The Body Building Diet for Success





Many find it hard to believe that appropriate nutrition is actually what decides how successful a person can be with regards to body building. The diet should be planned in a way that means it helps in muscle gain and not in weight gain. You must also realise that supplements are not miracle workers and they alone will not transform your body. Supplements can only enhance and contribute to the body building process. 

The perfect body builder diet should include food products that contain all categories of nutrients. It is essential to consume all nutrients, including proteins, carbohydrates and (good) fats.

Some of the various food products that body builders should consume for the intake of proteins are lean meat, fish, eggs, milk, nuts etc. For carbohydrates they should go for brown rice, potatoes, wholemeal bread, fresh fruits and vegetables. 

What ever you do if you want to be a successful body builder do not indulge in white flour products, white flour products can be seriously detrimental to all of your hard work, so much so that professional body builders have been known to call white bread the white death!

As a body builder, the most important thing you need to do is follow the basic rules of diet. Go for small and regular meals rather than binging on irregular and large meals. It is best to eat six meals a day, and if possible you should try to space them out at 2 ½ hour intervals. The proportion of carbohydrates, fats and protein intake should be in the ratio of 4:2:4. This ratio ideally helps in reducing weight and building the impressive muscular body you desire.

A few diet tips for body building success:

Try not to consume carbohydrates three to four hours before you go to bed
Rather than frying foods start roasting, grilling and steaming.
Always Opt for skinless chicken or turkey and avoid high fat meats.
Stay away from processed foods and junk food!
Eliminate refined sugars from your diet
Drink plenty of water
