Almost every guy wants to build muscle mass and strength. It is one of the best ways to boost his ego. It is also why most guys in the gym spend countless hours on bicep curls. Biceps are a very small muscle group compared to your legs, chest, and back.
How to build muscle mass and strength:
First off, you need to keep things simple. You are not going to see results if you make things complicated. If you are a natural hardgainer like me, you can’t follow bodybuilding routines that you see in muscle magazines. You also cannot grow muscles by spending 2+ hours per day at the gym, but if you are a complete beginner, I am sure that you will see some results no matter what you do. Build Muscle Strength
When I say keep things simple, I mean that you should stick to the basic mass building exercises. What are they? The deadlift, squat, and bench press. These are the best to build muscle mass and strength. It took me 4 months to gain over 25 pounds and I was able to deadlift 335 pounds for 5 reps naturally with no expensive supplements or steroids. The exercise is so simple that I can get out of the gym in less than 45 minutes.
Bodybuilding magazines tell you to do 20 different exercises for the same muscle group. How are you suppose to recover? Let’s say you do 335 pound deadlift for 5 reps, and then you get so tired that you end up doing 150 pounds deadlift for 10 reps. That will not help you get stronger or bigger! Get rid of the mindset that you must do a lot of reps and sets to grow muscles. You are only hurting yourself by not letting your body recover.
Besides exercising, a lot has to do with your diet and how much rest you get. I started seeing more results when I began to eat a lot more healthy food and sleep more than 7 hours per night. Build Muscle Strength
